Library Procedures
Students are allowed to check out two books at a time unless special permission is received.
On a class’s library day, books are to be brought back, even if they will not be checked in that day.
Although there are no fines for over due items, materials that are lost or damaged must be paid for in full.
All overdue items must be returned before the student can check out any other material.
If students return materials early, they may check out books before school or during recess.
Individual students may visit the LMC at any time as needed with teacher permission.
Library Programs
The Library Media Center sponsors several programs for our students:
Mark Twain Award Program—Fourth and fifth grade teachers may read aloud or students may read independently from the nominees. Students who have heard or read at least four nominees may vote for their favorite.
Scholastic Book Fair--The book fair will be held in the library starting October 26th and ending November 4th. The students may purchase books before school by obtaining a book fair pass from the supervisors in the gym and after school until 3:00. This year you can shop the book fair online starting October 18th and ending November 7th. Click on the Book Fair Online icon at the top of the page for more information and to place your order. All online orders will be delivered to the school. The orders will already be sorted and labeled with the student's name.
